TFI Pop-Up Memory Lab Workshop: Digitizing Tapes
This year, our Memory Lab Programming Series focuses on creative and alternative archival approaches that preserve and present marginalized histories and futures.
Our first workshop will teach participants how to digitize VHS, Hi8, and MiniDV tapes with hands-on training from TFI staff. This workshop is ideal for people looking to preserve their personal archives. Participants will leave with digitization workflows and information on where to purchase equipment.
TFI Pop-Up Memory Lab Showcase Evening: Creative Archival Works + Open Call
Archives are a largely untapped creative source, and we want to change that by offering a space that celebrates, supports, and presents works that use archives as inspiration and material in their audiovisual works, which is why we’re holding an open call for our showcase evening of creative archival works. Selected individuals will receive an honorarium for their participation; submissions are due by March 18th.
On Friday, April 19, TFI will host our Pop-Up Memory Lab Showcase Evening: Creative Archival Works at Pen + Brush from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Join us for a screening followed by a short Q+A and receipt. You don’t want to miss it!
