Thank You! Kickstarter Goal Exceeded
Thanks to the support of our community, we surpassed our Kickstarter goal and activated a $25,000 match from one of our generous supporters. This support will help launch our newest initiative, Preserving the Feminist Internet, through which we have already added new archived websites to our digital archive.
Keep an eye out for new Preserving the Feminist Internet partnerships on our social media and this very newsletter.
Say Hello to the Phyllis Krim Collection
We launched the Phyllis Krim Collection in our digital archive last week. In conjunction with the artist’s estate, we have added over 100 pieces of digitized ephemera, photographs, and audiovisual content that celebrates Krim’s body of work.
Krim was an artist active in the bohemian circles of New York’s storied downtown scene of the 1960s and 70s. She was best known for her paintings of classic cars, which she interpreted as allegorical symbols of power, beauty and strength.
As a woman artist painting portraits of machines, Krim endured sexist resistance to her art throughout her lifetime. Check out the introduction to Krim’s collection written by curator Emilie Trice.
It’s Giving #GivingTuesday
