2023: A Year in Review
A new website, new programs, and a supportive community. Join us in celebration, and consider making a gift today.
This year has been significant for The Feminist Institute. We are grateful for our community, which has uplifted and supported our mission. We wanted to take the time to revisit the most notable events of the past twelve months.
On International Women’s Day, we launched our new website, thoughtfully designed by design firm Linked by Air, a comprehensive hub for our programmatic activity. The key development was the launch of the TFI Digital Archive, designed to emulate feminist networks, where visitors can view archived websites, ephemera, sound recordings, video, and still images. 2024 will bring new collections and digital exhibitions to our digital home.
We also introduced two new programs: our Pop-Up Memory Lab and Preserving the Feminist Internet. Our inaugural Memory Lab, which took place over a month this past summer, saw the digitization of over 650 objects and fully booked consultations on best practices for preservation and digitization. We kicked off Preserving the Feminist Internet with a successful Kickstarter campaign. With this new initiative, we hope to capture and archive the substantial feminist activism and feminist contributions to popular culture that exist online.
Though we reached our Kickstarter goal, we still need your support as we reach the end of the year. From our preservation projects to pop-up memory labs, we directly impact ensuring an equitable historical record.
Your support enables additional feminist digitization initiatives, digital preservation work with notable feminist organizations, and special projects, such as digital exhibitions and oral histories.
Help us document the feminist past to guarantee a feminist future.
